EPS:<\/strong>\u00a0 \u201cI was raised in a Four Square church and my mother raised me to know the Lord. When I was 8 years old, we had a revival and a lady preacher gave an altar call.\u00a0 I just went down because the Lord just drew me.\u00a0 I knew it was time.\u00a0 At 10 years old, I was baptized with the Holy Spirit.\u00a0 Then at age 12, under the ministry of Pastor Floyd Dawson in Lubbock, I felt the call of God one Wednesday night.\u00a0 I went and told my pastor that Jesus called me to preach tonight, and he said \u2018Well, I\u2019ve always known God had His hand on you.\u2019<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n \u201cGrowing up I didn\u2019t hear much teaching about watching who you married.\u00a0 I fell in love with somebody who wasn\u2019t born again.\u00a0 I got married at age 18 and had two daughters, Paula and Deanna.\u00a0 My marriage was quite dysfunctional and we had lots of fights because he drank.\u00a0 I backslid so to speak, and was miserable and I thought I wanted to die.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n \u201cMy mother had been calling me and she told me to get my heart right with God.\u00a0 She said she had a dream and saw me dead.\u00a0 She started crying and praying, interceding for my soul.\u00a0 She would even pray during her lunch time at work, instead of eating.\u00a0 I told her to quit praying for me, that I can smoke, drink and cuss if I wanted to.\u201d<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n FPM:<\/strong>\u00a0 Is this when you had your experience of dying?<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n EPS:<\/strong>\u00a0 \u201cYes, I got sick from a bladder infection, so I went to the doctor and he gave me a Penicillin shot.\u00a0 He said to come back, that he I wouldn\u2019t be there but his nurse would.\u00a0 He said she would give me the shot and I could go home.\u00a0 So I took my children with me.\u00a0 I had a babysitter, a girl I knew, stayed in the car with the children.\u00a0 I said, \u2018I\u2019ll be right back out, it won\u2019t take more than 5 minutes.\u2019\u00a0 It took over 30 minutes and they didn\u2019t know what had happened.\u00a0 Actually the nurse had given me that Penicillin shot and I thought to myself, \u2018I sure hope she doesn\u2019t give me a bubble.\u2019\u00a0 \u00a0That is what they used to do, they gave you a bubble and didn\u2019t squirt the Penicillin out first, and it could kill you.\u00a0 That was my thought.\u00a0 I don\u2019t know if she gave me a bubble or what, but they said I died from the Penicillin shot.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n \u201cNow immediately when she gave it to me, I began to cry out, \u2018I can\u2019t see, I\u2019m blind.\u2019\u00a0 I couldn\u2019t see anything.\u00a0 She said, \u2018Well, lie down here on this examining table.\u2019\u00a0 So when I did, I started jerking, my body started convulsing.\u00a0 She held my tongue down to keep me from swallowing it.\u00a0 And she was on the telephone.\u00a0 I could hear her talking.\u00a0 All of a sudden I jerked and I came out of my mouth, my spirit did.\u00a0 I stood by my body and I saw the nurse standing there.\u00a0 Pretty soon she left me and she ran down the hall.\u00a0 I began to float to the top of the ceiling and I saw her get this other doctor and bring him to my body.\u00a0 Now in the meantime, I went outside the West Texas hospital and I looked down and it was if my car had no roof and I could see my children.\u00a0 And I could hear what they were saying.\u00a0 They were saying, \u2018Mommy, Mommy, hurry. \u00a0Mommy, fer are you?\u2019 and that meant where are you.\u00a0 The babysitter was leaning on the steering wheel and saying, \u2018I wish that woman would hurry up.\u2019\u00a0 \u00a0And I was thinking, \u2018I can never hold my babies to me again\u2019, and I was so sad.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n \u201cI went up into space, way out there, and to my Pentecostal surprise, I started floating, like toward heaven.\u00a0 I went into a tunnel.\u00a0 I know I passed the Milky Way and way out there somewhere, it became kind of dim. And to my surprise I heard God\u2019s voice.\u00a0 He called my name, \u2018Elizabeth\u2019. \u00a0If you can understand, it was a sound like on a funny cartoon, like a big thundering voice, and He thundered my name.\u201d<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n FPM:<\/strong>\u00a0 Did you see a light?<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n EPS:<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u201cI didn\u2019t see a light yet, no, I was in a tunnel, but I could see little lights on the side of me as I went through this tunnel, little lights flashing on each side of me, going up beside of me.\u00a0 I didn\u2019t know what that was.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n \u201cBut when He called me the second time, I finally answered Him.\u00a0 I said, \u2018Oh, God, if you\u2019ll let me live I\u2019ll go back.\u2019\u00a0 First of all when He thundered my name,\u2019 Elizabeth\u2019, it was like a snap I could hear.\u00a0 \u2018I can snap you out into eternity.\u00a0 Just like this, I can snap you out into eternity.\u2019\u00a0 And that\u2019s when I answered, \u2018Oh God, if you\u2019ll let me live, I\u2019ll go back and I\u2019ll serve you.\u00a0 And I\u2019ll raise my children to know you.\u2019 \u00a0Then I felt like I\u2019m inside of Him.\u00a0 And as I was inside of Him, I saw from me, like from my belly button, although I didn\u2019t have a belly button, it was like a cord.\u00a0 And that cord was silver. I knew that I was connected to God from that umbilical cord.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n \u201cThe scripture in Ecclesiastes in the 12th<\/sup>\u00a0chapter says, \u2018Remember thy Creator in the days of thy youth.\u2019\u00a0 In the Amplified, it says, \u2018Before the silver cord is snapped apart or the golden bowl is broken at the cistern, and the circulatory system ceases to function.\u2019 \u00a0I did not know that scripture when I came back. Later on, I saw that in Ecclesiastes and I said, \u2018that\u2019s exactly what happened to me, I have a silver cord from me to God.\u2019\u00a0 I knew what it meant then.\u00a0 That\u2019s why the Bible says, \u2018Remember your Creator\u2019 when you are young, before that happens.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n \u201cI saw that God was pleased with what I said.\u00a0 That was a prayer that I prayed when I said, \u2018Oh God, if you\u2019ll let me live\u2026\u2019\u00a0 And when I prayed that my spirit man was moving with that word.\u00a0 It wasn\u2019t my mouth, it was my whole being pulsating that word, \u2018Oh God, if you\u2019ll let me live.\u2019\u00a0 And by the way, I saw that I had a light in me.\u00a0 When I stood by my body, I saw a light in me.\u00a0 To my Pentecostal surprise, I went up.\u00a0 What I mean by that is that I had never left God, but I had times when I\u2019d failed Him.\u00a0 God looks at things different than we do.\u00a0 Finally through the years I\u2019ve learned that it didn\u2019t mean that because I\u2019d missed it that God said, \u2018Okay, you\u2019re going to hell.\u2019\u00a0 Because when you\u2019re saved you are sealed with God unless you decide you don\u2019t want God anymore.\u00a0 But I didn\u2019t say that.\u00a0 I always wanted to serve God.\u00a0 I just didn\u2019t know how to be an overcomer.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n \u201cWhen I said to God I would serve Him if He would let me live, He turned me around.\u00a0 I\u2019m inside of Him.\u00a0 It was more than a person, it was inside of a Being. \u00a0It is so vast, so big, bigger than this universe.\u00a0 And I\u2019m not the only thing in there, but I\u2019m one of them.\u00a0 And I\u2019m in Him and I\u2019m going right back to the earth, faster than I\u2019d left.\u201d<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n FPM:<\/strong>\u00a0 You could feel yourself coming back?<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n EPS:<\/strong>\u00a0 \u201cOh yes, all of a sudden I\u2019m back in this body, that same body, totally healed.\u00a0 My physical body was healed.\u00a0 Now I\u2019m looking over to my right and I\u2019m groaning sort of.\u00a0 I\u2019m going, \u2018Oh, oh\u2026\u2019\u00a0 And they didn\u2019t know what I was groaning about.\u00a0 They thought I was groaning because I was hurting.\u00a0 They said, \u2018Okay, you\u2019re going to be alright, you\u2019re going to be alright.\u2019 And I said, \u2018Oh, yes, I am.\u00a0 I\u2019m back!\u2019\u00a0 They said, \u2018Well, we thought you were dead.\u2019\u00a0\u00a0 I said, \u2018Well, I was, but I\u2019m back now.\u2019<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n \u201cThe doctor was standing there counteracting the Penicillin in my right arm.\u00a0 He had stuck it in my vein, whatever that medicine was.\u00a0 They had just found out not long before that, how to bring you back from a Penicillin shock.\u00a0 That causes what is called an anaphylactic shock syndrome.\u00a0 That\u2019s why Penicillin can be fatal to a lot of people.\u00a0 I wasn\u2019t the only one that happened to.\u201d<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n FPM:<\/strong>\u00a0 After that experience, when did you obey the Lord to enter the ministry?<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n EPS:<\/strong>\u00a0 \u201cI can tell you I began right there at almost 23 years old.\u00a0 It seems like I just got up.\u00a0 They went out to the car and got my children and brought them in.\u00a0 They called Clifford at work, and they wouldn\u2019t release me until he got there.\u00a0 They wouldn\u2019t let me drive yet.\u00a0 When he came he was so angry, the demon that drove him made him furious.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n \u201cThey had told him that I had died and that they brought me back.\u00a0 When we got out to the car Clifford said, \u2018You didn\u2019t die.\u00a0 Don\u2019t you go around telling anybody that you died.\u00a0 You were just unconscious, that\u2019s all.\u2019 \u00a0And I looked at him and said, \u2018I died.\u2019\u00a0\u00a0 I\u2019d been afraid of him up until then.\u00a0 I was always in fear about what he\u2019d do or say.\u00a0 And all of a sudden I didn\u2019t have any fear.\u00a0 I feared the living God more than him.\u00a0 And I said, \u2018Nevertheless, the girls and I are not going to hell with you.\u2019\u00a0 That\u2019s what I told him, and that\u2019s when I began to be strong.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n \u201cI started reading the Word and studying.\u00a0 God started putting strong believers in my path, and I just started doing everything I knew to do, to go to church and do what I could do.\u00a0 I took my little girls and went to the Four Square Gospel Church.\u00a0 I tried to tell some of the people there my story and it went across like a lead balloon.\u00a0 So I left the church and went some other places.\u00a0 I went to an Assembly of God church and I went to Trinity Church in Lubbock.\u00a0 I lived for the Lord all that time.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n \u201cI tried to get Clifford saved.\u00a0 I tried to get him to see, but the fighting didn\u2019t stop.\u00a0 I didn\u2019t know what to do but to pray.\u00a0 I didn\u2019t think I could get a divorce because I had the call of God on me and I was going to have to obey that call.\u00a0 I had promised God if He\u2019d let me live I would come back and serve Him, and raise my children to know Him.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n \u201cI had heard Brother Kenneth Hagin speak, and met him, before all that happened.\u00a0 \u00a0I found Kenneth Hagin\u2019s tapes in the church library, at Trinity Church.\u00a0 And I started checking his tapes out.\u00a0 This woman said to me, \u2018You know, we\u2019ve got other tapes you can check out.\u2019\u00a0 But I said, \u2018Yeah, but I\u2019ve got a hold of something good and I\u2019m not letting it go.\u00a0 There\u2019s nobody else who teaches like he does.\u2019\u00a0 \u00a0Then I found out about his books.\u00a0 He had a few books out.\u00a0 One was called, \u2018Right and Wrong Thinking\u2019 and \u2018What is Faith\u2019.\u00a0 The main one was \u2018The Authority of the Believer,\u2019 and did that ever set me free.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n \u201cI began to study so much, they gave me a Sunday School class at Trinity.\u00a0 That class started growing, and it grew and grew.\u00a0 Finally I found out who I was having in my class and it was AA and AlAnon people, and I did not know that.\u00a0 They invited me to go to AA with them one time and I went with them.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n \u201cMorris Sheats was our pastor.\u00a0 I was singing in the choir and the Lord began to use me in that church in tongues and interpretation of tongues.\u00a0 Pastor Sheats knew that what I had was real.\u00a0 Then I found out about Rhema, and Pastor Sheats gave me a good recommendation.\u00a0 I went there in 1974.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n \u201cI had already been teaching people in little churches.\u00a0 I had Bible studies on Tuesday nights and there were four Pentecostal preachers whose churches had dried up who came to hear me.\u00a0 They each asked me to come speak at their churches.\u00a0 We had revival at one of them.\u00a0 I want you to know he had about 6 people, but during that revival about 50 people came out.\u00a0 I learned early that if you believe and have faith, God shows up.\u201d<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n FPM:<\/strong>\u00a0 Elizabeth has gone on to pioneer three churches, and to travel extensively preaching and teaching the Word of God.\u00a0 She has also taught at 4 established Bible schools in the U.S. as a guest teacher.\u00a0 In 1997 she was led of the Lord to found a ministry association known as Helping Inspire Ministries, to provide a structure in which ministers can affiliate, network and labor together.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Meet Elizabeth Pruitt Sloan.\u00a0 At age 22, she found herself miserable and living in a dysfunctional
